Floridians are spoiled by sunshine all year, turquoise beaches, and charming traditions, like fresh-squeezed orange juice, plastic lawn flamingos and of course sweet tea. Sweet tea is a traditionally Southern thing Floridians are definitely on board with - it's the perfect beverage for year-round porch-sitting. There’s no simple answer to why Southerners have such an affinity for sweet tea—or, as Dolly Parton put it in Steel Magnolias, “the house wine of the South.” What we know for certain is that nothing pairs quite as perfectly with a plate of pulled pork, fried chicken or deep-fried pickles, not to mention it’s ability to keep us cool and delighted in scorching summer temperatures.
